Estudió Escultura/Instalación con Christian Boltanski en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de París, y en 1992 se trasladó a Barcelona, donde vive y trabaja actualmente. Acostumbrado a trabajar en los extremos del sonido, que van desde solos acústicos para papel hasta acciones donde el volumen adquiere una presencia literalmente física, lleva creando desde 2001 diversos proyectos de música improvisada, utilizando cada vez una instrumentación diferente, como el acordeón, la guitarra preparada, el tocadiscos, diversos dispositivos electroacústicos u objetos resonantes, de manera a atribuir a estos proyectos identidades y direcciones múltiples. De su relativo desconocimiento en la escena contrasta la importancia y la calidad de su trabajo, convirtiéndole en una de las figuras clave injustamente olvidadas de la electrónica ambiental y minimalista en nuestro país. Compone con el nombre de Heezen y con su propio nombre desde el año 2003 combinando distintos elementos y técnicas propias de la música electrónica para construir composiciones que se acercan al impresionismo, al collage o al ambient. Interview (english): Monographic Podcast: _ A stream of harmonics, resonances and ceramic. Tomoko Sauvage is a Japanese born sound artist currently living in Paris. His work centres the attention on sound experimentation with bowls of china of different sizes, water and hydrophones (subaquatic microphones). Sauvage Plays with a variety of sounds and bells extracted directly of the manipulation of the bowls, the bubbles, the water and the resonances of these elements. All this combined with drones and natural harmonics creating a delicate balance between chaos, containment and randomness. The resultant game is a fluid audible landscape that changes and dialogues with the space through his fragile tonalities.
